How do you men deal with breakups?

I am curious how any of the men on here have felt after a breakup with a longterm girlfriend. My ex and I broke up almost 3 months ago, and I am doing pretty ok, but tonight I found myself thinking about and missing him a bit. Things ended pretty badly. I have no intention of ever speaking to him again, nevermind get back together or trying to be friends... however, that does not negate all the good times we had. I guess im just looking for some stories of other peoples experiences. How did you feel about an ex 3 months after the breakup? When do you think reality hits you the hardest?How do you men deal with breakups?
When me and my girl friend broke up i was really sad and also kind of mad but after a month i kept saying to myself that i am over her and stuff like that but when 3 months has passed by when i saw my ex with another guy i realized that i was wrong i was not over her. I guess i only felt this way because i really loved her.





I guess reality really hits me the most when you start realizing stuff because this is when you find out what you really feel for one another.

I'm not a guy, but I do know how my best friend took it.


He was kind of in denial, saying he was never going to date again for a long time, but then he ended up hooking up with me a couple months later...lol.





yeah I think they do the same denial thing girls do.

I felt anger more than anything and so to get away from that I started working out to distract myself from the emotional pain with the physical pain. I like to think that it was worth it because I'm a much healthier and better looking dude.

Well I am a guy and and it's funny that you say 3 months ago because it was basically 3 months ago that I had my break up. We were together 3 years so it wasn't a joke of a relationship. Anyway, it was pretty tough on me for about a month to a month and half to be honest. I still want to be with her, but each day it does get easier and I think about her a little less with each day. Of course every now and then I do find myself just thinking about her. It is rough and I did go through the tough guy phase where all I would say is ';I don't need a woman'; etc. etc. All guys do this though and basically when its all said and done if we really cared about you enough to have a long term relationship then it is tough on us also. Trust me I am sure he has thought about you recently even if things didn't end that well. It's just the way it works, it's tough for both people. No easier on one over the other.
