He thinks gay men are gross, but lesbians are great. How to deal with this?

I really, REALLY, REALLY hate men who say that gay men are wrong and sick and shoul dbe treated by a psychiatrist, but insist on lesbians being OK and hot and right.





WHY, WHY do they think that and how do I deal with a man who feels like that? I've tried and tried, and he just pisses me off. He's been a friend for a long time and I just want to find a way to explain it to him, that it's exactly the same thing.He thinks gay men are gross, but lesbians are great. How to deal with this?
it's a double standard for sure. a lot of straight guys are like that but not all of them.





as a side note, i am good friends with a married couple (man + woman couple). they both get off on watching gay male porn...which i thought was strange. when i asked why they thought this (since they asked me if i knew of any good films) they both explained that they found man on man action very animalistic and sex driven and it got them both in the mood. go figure!He thinks gay men are gross, but lesbians are great. i guess with guys it's a little different...i don't know why...it just is. i love seeing two guys kiss. he's just a close minded straight guy.
He is not alone. Alot of men feel the same way he does. Its a fantasy for most men for 2 women to be together.


There is nothing you can do for what he feels...I guess the only thing you can do is tell him that you don't like his comments, and would appreciate it if he would refrain from making comments against gays and lesbians in your presence.
i completely agree with you. all men think gay guys are disgusting and laugh at them but when it comes to two chicks the guys are all about it. i just dont understand it. get a life geesh. good luck with your friend.
Try to explain it to him however you can, and if that doesn't work then just accept the fact that he's a chauvanist pig and stop wasting your time on him.
You don't. You may not like how he feels about it but they are his feelings. Tell him you disagree and you really think he is wrong and leave it at that.
Oh, I guess it's just the fact that the imagination of women making out delights a heterosexual man more than the imagination of men doing the same thing... It's something very subjective, and if you think that men who tolerate lesbian women but dislike gay men are narrow-minded, you are probably right, but it's not your problem. ;) I understand that this friend of yours makes you feel angry, but I don't think that you will be able to change his mind. It's not your job, anyway, so just try to relax. :)

It's a matter of male pride; just leave him in his ignorance bliss, because for him to change and understand would be asking too much of his miniscule brain; give him a break.
See, this is what makes me detest the way straight guys are.





It's so damn annoying.
Tell him to stop imagining them having sex, and just deal with them like regular people. Obviously it's the sex acts that are freaking him out...tell him not to be so obsessed with it or take it so seriously.





Maybe if he starts thinking of it as something funny rather than threatening, he might be able to deal with it better. It's not like anyone is going to force him to watch them have sex or talk about them having sex, that kind of thing.





I work with a lot of gay men and women, and they're like everyone else. They know I'm straight and I know they're gay, even without mentioning it. It doesn't really come up. I don't really discuss sex (gay or straight) with anyone at work, anyway.
I have found this to be true of straight guys. They are turned on by two lesbians making out, but don't care much about seeing gay guys in action. I wouldn't try to change his attitude about this if I were you, because I doubt that you can. It will probably make him think less of you.
You don't need a friend that brings you this much anguish. Move on!
There isnt much you can do. just laugh at how stupid he is... you know the guy is terribly wrong and that should be enough... you cant make people change their feelings and opinions.
