How Does a poor man deal with wisdom tooth removal?

I have an infected gum from the emergence of bottom left wisdom tooth. I am now taking antibiotics. It is said that I should get it removed for over 1000 bucks. Its said that if I don't get it removed it will come in and out throughout my life causing flaps of broken skin and discomfort. This concerns me because this infection snuck up on me right quick. I'm interested in primitive dental work because it would be free. Is there any good info out there on the subject? I want to become my own dentist. How Does a poor man deal with wisdom tooth removal?
Use HYDROGEN PEROXIDE to brush and mouthwash morning and night and you will heal the infection and get rid of the pain.

All Wisdom teeth DO NOT HAVE TO BE PULLED.

I am 66 and have two and had two pulled at about 21 (they probably did not even need to come out.)

Some people of course do need them out, but don't jump the gun. The Hydrogen peroxide will heal the gum problems within a week or so.How Does a poor man deal with wisdom tooth removal?
I definitely wouldn't recommend that you try to take out your own wisdom teeth.

Especially with wisdom teeth that aren't in all of the way, the removal can be very complicated, even for a dentist. The removal would consist of needing to separate away gum tissue, probably having to cut away some bone, and maybe needing to section the tooth into parts.

Oral surgeons have special instruments to drill away tissues that inhibit the removal of the teeth.

Trying to do it yourself could result in severe consequences which include infection (not only because of unsanitary practices, but also because you could leave in root tips, etc.), cutting/tearing nerves that may even be traveling between the roots of the teeth. This could cause very serious damage (loss of sensation/movement in areas of the mouth.

You could perforate your sinus...

So many things could go wrong that it definitely is NOT worth the risk.

How about having them removed at a dental school for a reduced rate??

Some cities also have clinics that will remove teeth and do basic work for a very small flat fee for emergency visits. If your tooth is causing you problems right now, you would be a candidate for such work. If the case is simple enough, they may be able to remove the wisdom teeth there or can refer you to a specialist who may be able to do it at a cheaper price.

I had mine removed at a dental school for much cheaper than $1000, and had a great experience.

Good luck- and PLEASE don't try to do it yourself- it's not like tying a string to a baby tooth and slamming the door.
check where you live and see if there is a dental school nearby. The dental school usually runs a clinic for reduced rates, so the advanced students can get hands on experience. These clinics are open to everyone.

Also explain your situation to your regular dentist. If you have never tried to stiff him/her before, he/she may be willing to work out a payment plan with you.
I agree with the other people who said go and check out a local Dental school. If there isn't one in your city, there should be discounted/free dental clinics. I would look one of them up on line. As far as treatment goes, this could potentially be a life threatening infection. You should get on some antibiotics which will treat the infection but not the source, IE. the tooth. I say that this could be a life threatening infection due to the location of the infection and possibility for it to spread and eventually cause Ludwig's Angina, and obstruct your airway. If this flarred up quickly you should seek treatment from a Dentist or oral surgeon soon. DO NOT try to remove this tooth on your own. You could damage other teeth or fracture your lower jaw. As far as rinsing with Hydrogen Peroxide. Not a good idea for life, and this will not treat your infection. I hope this helps and just google free/discount dental clinic with your city name. If none exist go to the ER and ask if they have a dentist on staff. Most Med school ER's have Oral Surgery Residents and they will take care of you. Good Luck
Call your County Health Department, some cities have Dental Clinics
YOU HAVE 1 TOO MANY ZERO's FOR THE REMOVAL OF THIS TOOTH. IT'S ABOUT 100 OR ONE HUNDRED, NOT 1000 ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS.

YOU CANNOT DO THIS YOURSELF, LOL.
sure you just have to use pliars. grip and work it out. it will hurt like hell but once its out your problems will be solved.

it is said, so be it.
